FromSoftware already treated fans with the release of smash-hit Elden Ring earlier this year, yet it seems the studio still has plenty of other projects in the pipeline. According to FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki, one particular title is in the final stages of its development cycle.
In a 2018 interview, Miyazaki said that the studio was working on “three-and-a-half” games. Since then, FromSoftware has gone on to release Déraciné (a VR game that counts as half a game), Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring. This means that there is still one more game the studio is working on and has been keeping under the wraps for years.
When asked about the state of unannounced title in a recent interview with 4Gamer, Miyazaki stated that “development is currently in the final stages”. Miyazaki refrained from sharing more information on the project, however, some fans have already started speculating what this mystery title could be. Back in January, some leaks surfaced suggesting that a new installment in the Armored Core series is in the works. If the leaks are true, then the game in question could in fact be Armored Core 6 according to the leaked images and descriptions.
Miyazaki also revealed that he has already begun working on yet another title, as he aims to build a “more abstract fantasy” than anything the studio has done in the past. In addition, Miyazaki stated that the studio is working on several titles that aren’t directed by himself. While not much else was revealed about future projects in this interview, it is only a matter of time before the studio officially announces its upcoming projects. As for their short-term plans, the studio will continue to provide updates and improvements to Elden Ring.
So are you looking forward to FromSoftware’s upcoming title? Would you like it to be an Armored Core game or are you expecting a completely new IP?
