Jets blast Blue Jackets 6-1

7:36 PM

COLUMBUS — The Winnipeg Jets have started a five-game road trip on a winning note.

A 6-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets was never really in doubt.

Tyler Toffoli scored twice, while Kyle Connor, Nikolaj Ehlers, Logan Stanley and Vlad Namestnikov all had singles for the visitors, who improve to 43-19-5 and move back into first place in the Central Division.

Brendan Gaunce had the lone goal for Columbus, which falls to 23-34-11.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 30 shots for the victory.

The Jets now head to New York, where they’ll face the Rangers on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
