Elie scores hat trick to lead Cataractes to 7-3 win over Armada in QMJHL play

SHAWINIGAN, Que. – Vince Elie had a hat trick to lead the Shawinigan Cataractes to a 7-3 win over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League play Friday night.

Julien Lanthier, Jacob Lachance, Éli Baillargeon and Félix Lacerte also scored for Shawinigan.

Jonathan Fauchon had a hat trick for Blainville-Boisbriand.

DRUMMONDVILLE – Maxime-Olivier Drolet scored the game-winning goal at 1:27 in the second period as the Voltigeurs edged the Phoenix.

Sam Oliver and Marc-Olivier Beaudry had the other goals for Drummondville.

GATINEAU – Lars Steiner scored twice as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defeated the Gatineau Olympiques.

Alexis Lemire, Ty Higgins and Charles-Éric Tremblay added singles for Rouyn-Noranda.

BAIE-COMEAU – Lucas Beckman made 21 saves for the shutout as Baie-Comeau downed Rimouski.

Thomas Chafe and Zachary Paulhus tallied for Baie-Comeau.

VICTORIAVILLE – Eliott Simard scored twice as the Victoriaville Tigres defeated the Val-D’Or Foreurs.

Maël Lavigne had two goals while Alexis Bourque, Sidney Deslauriers, Thomas Gagnon and Samuel Vachon scored once for Victoriaville.

MOOSEHEADS 2 ISLANDERS 1

CHARLOTTETOWN – Logan Crosby scored the lone goal in a shootout to give the Halifax Mooseheads a victory over the Charlottetown Islanders.

The first seven Halifax shooters were denied and all eight Charlottetown attempts came up short.

Lou Lévesque scored in regulation for Halifax. Owen Conrad had the lone goal for Charlottetown.

SAINT JOHN – Jacob Steinman made 32 saves for the shutout in Moncton’s win over Saint John.

Riley Sampson scored twice and Alex Mercier had the other goal for the Wildcats.

ACADIE-BATHURST – Louis-François Bélanger scored twice as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan topped the Cape Breton Eagles.

Mathieu St-Onge and François-James Buteau added singles for Acadie-Bathurst.

SAGUENÉENS 6 REMPARTS 3

QUÉBEC – Korney Korneyev scored twice as the Chicoutimi Saguenéens topped the Québec Remparts.

Félix Gagnon also scored twice while Emmanuel Vermette and Alonso Gosselin added singles for Chicoutimi.
