Stephen “tWitch” Boss, a hip-hop dancer perhaps most notable for his stint as co-host and DJ on “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” has died at the age of 40, according to reports.

Boss, who got his start on the hit TV series “So You think You Can Dance” married fellow dancer and show contestant Allison Holker. They have three children.

Holker issued a statement confirming her husband’s death to Good Morning America, saying, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.”

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” Holker’s statement read. “He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

Stephen "tWitch" Boss and Allison Holker attend Critics Choice Association's 5th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television on Dec. 5, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. The couple had recently celebrated their ninth anniversary.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children,” Holker continued in her statement to the GMA.

“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” she wrote.

A report by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner office said Boss died in a hotel or a motel on Tuesday, Dec. 13. The cause of death is not detailed at this time. His death was first reported by TMZ.
