VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Canucks signed recently acquired defenceman Marcus Pettersson to a six-year, US$33-million contract extension on Wednesday.

The Canucks traded for Pettersson and forward Drew O’Connor in a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins last week.

The move came hours after Vancouver dealt star forward J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers.
