Canada’s Mattea Roach, described as the “first Gen Z super-champion” of “Jeopardy!” will be one of six “Jeopardy! Masters” in a new iteration of the quiz show greenlit by ABC.

The network announced the series Wednesday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif. It will feature the six highest ranked current “Jeopardy!” contestants facing off to claim the title of Jeopardy! Master.

Roach, a Haligonian-turned-Torontonian who won $560,983 (U.S.) in 23 consecutive games last year, will compete in “Jeopardy! Masters,” described by ABC as “a Champions League style event,” against Matt Amodio, Sam Buttrey, Andrew He, James Holzhauer and Amy Schneider.

Former contestant Ken Jennings, who won the title of Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time, will host.

Months after her winning run, Roach returned to appear in the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions that aired in November 2022; but lost in the semifinals to He.
