Henrik Lundqvist leads goalie-heavy 2023 class into Hockey Hall of Fame

TORONTO – Henrik Lundqvist is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The New York Rangers legend was enshrined during Monday’s ceremony to welcome the class of 2023.

Joining the goaltender were two fellow netminders in Mike Vernon and Tom Barrasso.

The rest of the player category included Pierre Turgeon and Caroline Ouellette.

Former NHL head coach Ken Hitchcock and the late Pierre Lacroix, who was both an agent and executive, went into the hall as builders.

Lundqvist won the 2012 Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top puck-stopper. He ranks sixth all-time in wins (459), ninth in games played (887) and 17th in shutouts (64).
