WFPS responds to fire on McDermot Avenue

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a one storey house in the 800 block of McDermot Avenue at 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Smoke was coming from the structure when crews arrived on scene. The fire was declared under control at 4:32 p.m.
The resident of the home evacuated before crews arrived on scene. There were no injuries reported.
Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by unattended cooking.
