Jets fall to Flyers

The Winnipeg Jets had their eight-game winning streak snapped by the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday night.

The Flyers got a pair of goals from Cam Atkinson and a 35-save shutout from Samuel Ersson to earn a 2-0 victory.

It was the first regulation loss for the Jets since Dec. 12 against the San Jose Sharks, ending a string of 14 consecutive games recording at least one point (12-0-2).

Connor Hellebuyck made 34 saves for the Jets in what was his 31st start of the season.

The Jets, who slip to 29-10-4 on the season, wrap up a four-game homestand on Tuesday against the New York Islanders.

Outage to affect 3,000 customers: Manitoba Hydro

Manitoba Hydro users in Ashern, Hodgson and Dallas will undergo an emergency outage at 3 p.m. today.

The crown corporation announced the 30 minute outage on X (formerly known as Twitter) this afternoon.

“The outage is needed to adjust our system due to the cold weather. The temporary outage will avoid a longer, unplanned outage,” said the post.

Southbound Notre Dame at Cecil Street reopens after crash involving pedestrian

Winnipeg police have reopened southbound Notre Dame Avenue at Cecil Street to traffic after “an investigation regarding a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian,” according to a post from the Winnipeg Police Service on X (formerly Twitter).
