TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets are locked up 3-3 after a busy second period of NHL action this afternoon.

Liam O’Brien scored at 5:49 of the middle frame to give the hosts a 2-0 lead after an ugly giveaway by Jets centre Mark Scheifele. But Nino Niederreiter cut the lead in half less than two minutes later when he finished off a pretty passing play with Josh Morrissey and Mason Appleton.

The Jets pulled even at 10:05 when Brenden Dillon took a pass from Vladislav Namestnikov and beat goalie Karel Vejmelka. Lawson Crouse and Niederreiter, with his second goal of the period, traded power-play tallies late in the period.

The Coyotes tiny home, Mullett Arena on the Arizona State University campus is rocking, with plenty of Jets jersey in the crowd and fans of each side trading chants.
