9:04 PM

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow on the 200 block of Antrim Road around 6 p.m. Sunday evening.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke in the home. Roughly twenty minutes later, the fire was declared under control. All occupants of the house had safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of the crews, and no injuries reported.

Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental.

Keefer wins Manitoba Open

6:12 PM

Rookie Johnny Keefer captured the Manitoba Open in thrilling fashion on Sunday afternoon at Southwood Golf & Country Club.

The 23-year-old from Baltimore shot a final round five-under 67 event to finish the tournament at 26-under par. That was one stroke better than Pittsburgh’s Neal Shipley and Quebec’s Joey Savoie.

Keefer, who recently graduated from Baylor and had finished second in four other events earlier this summer, takes home the US $40,500 top prize and moves to top spot on the PGA Tour Americas standings through 14 of 16 events.

The top 10 at the end of the season receive their Korn Ferry Tour cards for next year.
