Missing Saskatchewan man last seen in The Pas

RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man last seen in The Pas, Man., mor ethan a week ago.
Moise Jordan Sewap, 29, was last seen on July 5 leaving an address on Ross Avenue in The Pas in the early morning hours, RCMP said in a release Sunday evening. His family is concerned about his well-being.
Sewap is from Denare Beach, Sask., a village about 20 km southeast of Flin Flon, Man. He is described as 5’11” tall and 190 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
Sewap’s family was not able to provide a photo of him; RCMP asked anyone with a photo to share it.

Fire crews battle two blazes in the West End

City fire crews responded to two fires in the West End neighbourhood over the weekend.
One building, a single-family bungalow on the 400 block of Young Street, caught fire around 7:42 p.m. Saturday. A fire crew was driving past the building when firefighters noticed heavy smoke and flames billowing from within, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said in a news release Sunday.
Firefighters waited for additional crews to arrive before battling the blaze from the outside. Once the flames were knocked down, crews entered the building and declared it under control around 8:13 p.m., WFPS said.
All of the building’s occupants were able to self-evacuate. No injuries were reported, but fire crews found a dead cat inside. The fire is under investigation, the release said.
Around 1:39 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a burning, three-storey apartment building on Ellice Avenue.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure, but were able to enter the building and battled the blaze inside. The fire was declared under control at 2:27 a.m., WFPS said.
The City of Winnipeg deployed an emergency social services team to help displaced residents find temporary accommodations. The fire is being investigated, WFPS said.
Damage estimates for both buildings are not available.
