Bombers and Redblacks game halted for weather delay
9:28 PM
OTTAWA — With 2:09 remaining in the fourth quarter, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the ball trailing 23-17 to the Ottawa Redblacks, the game has halted owing to a severe weather delay.
There was heavy rain for much of the game, but lightning started to appear in the second half, eventually getting close enough to enact a weather delay. According to the CFL’s rules, since the game is past the midway mark of the third quarter, if the weather doesn’t ease up after 60 minutes, the game is declared over and the Redblacks would earn the win.
The Bombers are 0-1 after losing to the Montreal Alouettes in Week 1. The Redblacks had the bye.

Two people were assessed by paramedics, but didn’t need to go to the hospital.
The leak was halted 30 minutes later by Manitoba Hydro.
Bombers trail Redblacks 16-10 at halftime
8:07 PM
OTTAWA — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers played a sloppy first half of football but managed to escape trailing just 16-10 to the Ottawa Redblacks through two quarters of play at TD Place Thursday night.
The Redblacks took a 10-0 lead through 15 minutes, owing to a 12-yard field goal from Lewis Ward and a one-yard rushing touchdown from short-yardage quarterback Dustin Crum. Ward would add another two field goals — from 31 and 34 yards, respectively — to round out the scoring for the home side.
The Bombers struggled through the opening frame but found some major life late in the second. Sergio Castillo got the visitors on the scoreboard with a 45-yard field goal, and Johnny Augustine followed that up with a hard run on a four-yard TD to cut the lead to 13-10. Lewis made it a six-point game with seconds remaining before the break.
