Teens accused of break-and-enter of Easterville nursing station
3:33 PM
A group of teens are accused of busting into the nursing station in Easterville, stealing medications, a vehicle and a fire extinguisher that was then used to spray a dog in the face earlier this month.
Chemawawin RCMP were called about the break-in at the northern community’s nursing station at about 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 5.
Mounties say four suspects were caught on camera breaking into the station’s ambulance bay at about 2 a.m., before trying to break into the RCMP detachment, before giving up and going back to the nursing station. About an hour later, RCMP say, the suspects were caught on camera leaving the station with a television, some prescription medications and the fire extinguisher.
One of the suspects, police say, used the fire extinguisher to spray the dog, which appears to have ran away uninjured. The suspects then returned and stole a vehicle parked in front of the station.
Later on Oct. 5, RCMP from The Pas found the stolen vehicle on Highway 60 and arrested the driver, a 15-year-old boy, and determined three of the youth suspects had been arrested earlier that morning for a break-in at a mall in The Pas.
The 15-year-old has been charged with two counts of break and enter, theft of a vehicle, possession of a property obtained by crime, theft, mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing animals unnecessary suffering.
Two 13-year-old boys were charged with two counts of break and enter, theft of a vehicle, theft and mischief.
A 19-year-old woman was charged with two counts of break and enter, theft of a vehicle, theft and mischief.
