Pryor scores 29 in South Florida’s 81-73 win over Rice

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Kasean Pryor scored 29 points as South Florida beat Rice 81-73 on Friday night.

Pryor had five steals and five blocks for the Bulls (9-5, 2-1 American Athletic Conference). Selton Miguel scored 16 points, shooting 6 for 11, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc. Kobe Knox was 5 of 9 shooting, including 2 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 4 from the line to finish with 15 points.

The Owls (6-10, 0-3) were led by Mekhi Mason, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds. Rice also got 17 points, 19 rebounds and four assists from Max Fiedler. In addition, Alem Huseinovic had 12 points.

Knox scored 12 points in the first half and South Florida went into the break trailing 40-31. Pryor’s 27-point second half helped South Florida finish off the eight-point victory.

South Florida plays Thursday against Memphis on the road, and Rice hosts Charlotte on Tuesday.
