Spotify was inaccessible for several users on Wednesday. Gadgets 360 spotted that streaming music and podcasts on the service were not accessible as of 5:35pm IST. Users also reported issues with accessing the service on downtime tracking website Downdetector. The Web interface for Spotify appeared to load normally, but no episodes, albums or playlists were shown to users. Spotify acknowledged user reports of being unable to access the service and said it was investigating the issue.
Update: Spotify has now confirmed that it has resolved the issue affecting playback on the music streaming service. Gadgets 360 was able to confirm that music playlists, albums, and episodes were working normally about an hour after the issues were discovered.

Earlier on Wednesday, users began to report issues with the streaming service, with over 20,000 users reporting issues at the peak of the disruption on Downdetector.com, a website that tracks downtime for applications and services on the Web. On Downdetector.in, around 852 users reported that they were unable to access the service for about an hour.
Spotify quickly acknowledged the user reports minutes after the service began to receive complaints from users, stating that the company was looking into the issues. About half an hour later, the service tweeted that access to Spotify had been restored, asking users to report any issues to its customer service account on Twitter.
Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports!

A few days ago, thousands of users experienced an outage after Amazon Web Services (AWS), Apple TV, and Alexa were all down briefly on April 16, according to a Reuters report. Around 16,000 users couldn’t access Alexa in the US, while hundreds of users couldn’t connect to AWS, and around 6,000 users were unable to access the Apple TV platform for a few hours on April 15. The issues were discovered a few days after Apple users had reported that they were briefly unable to access Apple Music, the company’s streaming service.
