TORONTO – The stage adaptation of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has been extended to June 2023.

Producers say 10 weeks of performances have been added from March 21 to June 4, 2023, with the new block of tickets on sale Saturday through Mirvish Productions.

The show is based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

It centres on the adventures of Harry Potter’s headstrong son Albus, who befriends the son of rival Draco Malfoy.

Toronto’s CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre was remodelled specifically for the magical show, with the auditorium encircled by dark blue walls, wallpaper and a gold-rimmed dome.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is produced in Toronto by originating producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions with Canadian producer David Mirvish.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Dec. 5, 2022.
