“Zero Days” is the latest novel destined to go from bookstore to a weekend at the cottage. It’s by the popular thriller writer Ruth Ware, and joins the list this week at the top of the Original fiction list.

On the Canadian fiction list, the week’s top arrival is the wonderfully titled “I Only Read Murder.” It’s a cozy mystery about a washed-up TV sleuth who finds herself at a small town on the West Coast where, surprise!, she gets involved in a real-life murder. It’s by brothers Ian Ferguson and Will Ferguson, both winners of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour. Their previous collaboration was 2007’s “How to Be a Canadian: Even If You Already Are One.” It ranks No. 7 on the list.

Finally, we can tell even without looking at Facebook posts showing our friends’ graduating offspring that it’s that time of year, because the poignant “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” by Dr. Seuss is No. 1 on the Children and Young Readers list. It’s a perennial, if perhaps unoriginal, gift to the graduands in our lives.
