Another Torontonian is making it big on the game show Jeopardy! after a five-game winning streak that has placed him on the run for the Tournament of Champions.

Ray Lalonde, a scenic artist from Toronto, has been on a Jeopardy! winning streak since last Thursday.

He has amassed $132,200 US throughout his five-game run as of Wednesday night’s show.

Lalonde’s started Wednesday’s game on the back burner after his first faceoff round against Mississauga tutor Michael Vaz. But an accurate guess for a “Daily Double” question closing the second round shot Lalonde to the top.

During the final round the two Toronto-area contestants guessed correctly on a children’s book title, but Lalonde’s higher bet sealed his win.

Lalonde’s victory “punched his ticket” into Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. He currently sits on the list of eligible contestants for the next tournament according to the Jeopardy! website.

Players who win at least four or more consecutive games become eligible to compete in the Tournament of Champions, but that criteria alone does not guarantee a player will be able to participate, the site reads.

Jeopardy! cautions that producers have sole discretion on the decision to include a contestant in the tournament.

Earlier this year, Mattea Roach, another Torontonian, also won big on the popular game show.

She had a 23-game win streak, having the fifth most consecutive games won. At the time of her win, she also had the fifth-highest winnings during a regular season, amassing $560,983 US.

Since then, Cris Pannullo, another Jeopardy! contestant, took that spot, wrapping up his streak this December.

Pannullo has won $748,286 US during his time on the game show.

Those who want to keep track of Lalonde’s performance can tune in on YES TV in Canada or check their television service provider’s local listings.
