Whaley’s 21 lead UNLV over Princeton in NIT 84-77

PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — Rob Whaley Jr. had 21 points in UNLV’s 84-77 victory over Princeton on Wednesday night in the NIT.

Whaley had nine rebounds for the Rebels (20-12). Keylan Boone scored 18 points and added 11 rebounds. Justin Webster had 15 points and shot 5 for 7, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc.

Caden Pierce led the way for the Tigers (24-5) with 22 points, six rebounds and five steals. Zach Martini added 17 points for Princeton. Blake Peters also recorded 12 points and two steals.

Boone scored nine points in the first half and UNLV went into halftime trailing 38-36. Whaley scored 15 points in the second half.
